The IB offers a unique assessment system, based on rigorous criteria against which students are evaluated. The model offered by the IB is of high quality and ensures reliable evaluation thanks to which the IB students become highly respected students as far as university education is concerned. The universities around the world value IB students and the abilities they gained during their education at a secondary level , as the IB programme objective is to prepare students for a higher education and with the attributes they finish their secondary education such as inquisitive mind, critical thinking, open-mindedness or reflection you cannot think of a student who is better prepared for the university challenges. The assessment which is based on tasks of various type allows for developing analytical and critical thinking, using the knowledge in practice, collaboration, researching. Students are also given plenty of opportunities to present their knowledge in a written or oral form. In each subject there are three or four assessment components. The IB assessment is divided into the internal and external form. The internal assessment means that the students’ work is assessed by IB teacher, which later on moderated by the IBO. The external assessment takes place at the same time for all IB students of and sent to IB examiners to be checked and assessed. This way of examining ensures objectivity of assessment. The maximum points an IB students can get is 45, the pass lowest score is 23. The range of grades is 1-7 for the six subjects plus three points for the extended essay and theory of knowledge. The core (the EE, TOK and CAS) must be satisfactorily completed before the exams. The number of IB students is steadily increasing. The average score students get is 30 with more than 50% getting the grade between 4 and 5.
