How to apply

Admission Policy PYP

Admission to the Gen. Ryszard Kuklinski International School of Bydgoszcz  pursuing the Primary Years Programme is depended on the Principal in consultation with the PYP coordinator, the school psychologist and experienced teachers. The ISoB wants to check if the potential student will benefit from the educational programme provided by the school and if the capacity of the ISoB will meet the educational needs of the applicant. Admission policy of the International School of Bydgoszcz is based also on the following rules:

  • Applicants are to be interviewed by the Principal and/or PYP coordinator in terms of their interests or plans for the future Candidates
  • Applicants are to be diagnosed by English teacher in terms of their knowledge of English
  • Applicants are to fill in the required documents:
    • Application form (available on the school’s website)
    • Medical/Insurance Form
    • Student Certificates from previous school(s)
    • Opinion from the last school (if it’s possible)
    • 1 photograph (identity card format)
  • Applicants are required to pay entrance fee.

Candidates’ parents are to accept school’s statute by signing the school’s enrollment contract Candidates’ parents have to also sign the code of behavior and the school locker instruction and the PYP Hanbook for Parents and Students.

Applicants for admission to the Gen. Ryszard Kuklinski International School of Bydgoszcz are enrolled and registered after the payment of the non-refundable registration fee to the school’s account. A child enrolled at the ISoB will be treated on an equal rights as all other children. A student is placed in grade after due consideration of age, grade level at previous school(s), also emotional and physical maturity.

Admission to the Gen. Ryszard Kuklinski International School of Bydgoszcz  pursuing the Middle Years Programme is depended on the Principal in consultation with the MYP coordinator, the school psychologist and experienced teachers. The ISoB wants to check if the potential student will benefit from the educational programme provided by the school and if the capacity of the ISoB will meet the educational needs of the applicant. Admission policy of the International School of Bydgoszcz is based also on the following rules:

  • Applicants are to be interviewed by the Principal and/or MYP coordinator in terms of their interests or plans for the future Candidates

Admission Policy DP

The admission process at ISoB is designed to ensure that potential students will benefit from the IB Diploma Programme and that the school can effectively meet their educational needs. Admission involves a collaborative consultation between the DP Coordinator, the school psychologist (if necessary), and experienced subject teachers.

Candidates must demonstrate academic readiness based on their Grade 10 results (or the second class of Polish Liceum Ogólnokształcące).

Grade Requirements

Note: Equivalents from other national grading scales will be assessed on an individual basis by the Admissions Committee.

  • ISoB Students: Must have at least a “Satisfactory” (Odpowiednie) behavior mark.
  • Non-ISoB Candidates: Must have at least a “Good” (Dobre) behavior mark.

All candidates must undergo a process to determine their placement and suitability for the programme.

  • Non-ISoB applicants will be interviewed by DP Coordinators to discuss their interests, academic goals, and future aspirations.
  • Non-ISoB applicants are required to take entrance examinations in English and Mathematics. (Note: ISoB students only take the Mathematics exam if applying for Math HL).
  • Entrance examinations for English are categorized as follows:
  • Modern Languages (Group 2): Candidates wishing to study Spanish, French, or German at SL or HL must have a brief interview with a language teacher to determine the appropriate level.

Applicants must submit the following documents to the school office:

  • Application Form (available on the school website) must be submitted till 30 April of the school year which will start in September.
  • Subject Choice Form.
  • Medical/Insurance Form.
  • Student Certificates from previous school(s) and past reports.
  • Official Opinion from the previous school.
  • One Photograph (identity card format).

Entrance tests are administered at ISoB in the second half of June. Individual arrangements can be made in August for students relocating to Bydgoszcz.

A non-refundable entrance/registration fee (500PLN) must be paid to the school’s account.

A student is placed in Grade 11 after due consideration of entrance examinations, grades acquired at previous school(s), also emotional and physical maturity. The final decision on accepting a student is made at the discretion of the ISoB Principal.

A candidate enrolled at the ISoB will be treated on equal rights as all other children.
